William C. Brakebush, age 71 of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010. He was born on February 3, 1939 in Portage, son of the late William A. and Hilda (Jahnke) Brakebush. Bill married Nancy Frank on January 24, 1959 in Harrisville. Bill spent his life loving his family and building the family business. His greatest passion in life was serving his Lord through his church and the Orphan Grain Train. Throughout his life he was also involved in the community holding various board positions, including Divine Savior Hospital, The Sisters of the Divine Savior and many others.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Nancy; four children, Cathy (Dave) Robinson, Portage; Chari (Russ) Schieber, Portage; Chris (Megan) Brakebush, Westfield and Carey (Michelle) Brakebush, Portage; 13 grandchildren, Brooks, Ty and Allie Robinson; Randi, Alex, Jake and Nick Schieber; Amber Brakebush, Mandi (Joe) Wentland, Paige and Gabrielle Brakebush and Cody and Reagan Brakebush; three great grandchildren, Trinity, Lydia and Alexis; one sister, Carolyn (Herb) Holin, Fl; many other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Lee Brakebush.
A funeral service for Bill will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Ron Riemer officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery, Westfield. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield.
