Wayne Lee

Wayne C. Lee, age 93 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Evansville Manor in Evansville. He was born on March 31, 1923 in Newton, Illinois to William and Sybil (Davis) Lee. Wayne proudly served his country during WW II and the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. He married Elma Haskins on September 24, 1952 in Madison. Wayne worked with his brother, “Mud” at Lee’s Roto-Rooter of Madison for over 35 years, retiring in 1988. Wayne and Elma retired to Lawrence Lake to enjoy a life of fishing, friends and relaxation.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four sisters and five brothers.

A Celebration of Life Service for Wayne will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield with Rev. LeRoy Jonas IV officiating. Full military honors by Westfield Area Veterans Honor Squad will be held following the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will then be held at Thal Acres in Westfield.

A memorial visitation for Wayne will be held on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Wayne’s name.
