Vonda Rae Joyce Zuelke

Vonda Rae Joyce Zuelke, age 90 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Juliette Manor in Berlin. She was born on November 5, 1934 in Tomah, WI to Virgil and Violet (Crawford) Gustin. 

Vonda Rae was baptized and confirmed at Cross Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She married Jerome Zuelke on March 7, 1953 in Budsin. Vonda Rae worked at the Pioneer Motor Inn in Westfield for 15 years and REA in Wautoma for 14 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newton where she taught Sunday school for many years. Vonda Rae loved her family. She was a dedicated mother whose favorite topic was talking about her children. Beyond motherhood, working on the farm was part of her daily life. Vonda Rae loved to read, travel and spend time with friends and loving her husband. She will be remembered as loving, caring, a good listener and encourager of others.

Vonda Rae is survived by her five children, Susan (James) Schurk, Daniel, David, Andrew and Paul (Kelly) Zuelke; three grandchildren, Danielle, Olivia and Henry Zuelke; two great granddaughters, Quinn and Zelda; brother-in-law, DuWayne (Jean) Zuelke; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; sister, Yvonne Dunaway and brother-in-law, Marvin (Betty) Zuelke.

A funeral service for Vonda Rae will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newton with Rev. Wayne Schwanke officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Newton. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
