Violet Zande

Violet A. Vande Zande, age 92 of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Villa Pines Living Center, Friendship. She was born on March 6, 1920 in the Town of Springfield, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Otto and Olga (Kruger) Buchholtz. She married Morris Vande Zande on June 7, 1941 in Laurel, MS, he preceded her in death on April 4, 2006. Violet was very patriotic and loved her country. She was a member of the VFW Post #8718 Ladies Auxiliary of Westfield and a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield. Violet’s greatest enjoyment was her family. She took great pride in being a homemaker and a caregiver to Morris in his later years. She also enjoyed to knit and crochet.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Verjean) Vande Zande, Merrill; two grandchildren, Dr. Victoria (Gary Wosick) Vande Zande, Eau Claire and Christopher (Tina) Vande Zande, Madison; two great grandchildren, Spencer and Brady Wosick; one sister, Merna (Jim) Frozene, Westfield; one brother, Marlo (Mary) Buchholtz, Westfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Violet was preceded in death by her son, Calvin; two sisters, Mavis Daye and Linda Marotz; two brothers, Marvin and Walter Buchholtz.

A funeral service for Violet will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Pastor Frank Giebel officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
