Sondra “Sandy” Kay (Becker) Snow , loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister went to be with the Lord, peacefully, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born on June 7, 1942 to Erwin and Ruth (Sortore) Becker in Galesville, Wisconsin. Sondra graduated from West Division High School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She met and married George Henry Snow on December 23, 1960. During this time, she worked at Briggs and Stratton where she built printed circuit boards, and after a few years of service there, she started work at Master Lock as a keypunch operator. Sandy and George moved to Westfield in 1969, to start their long career in auto dealership and restaurant ownership all while raising their two daughters.
Sandy adored her five grandchildren and extended her love out to many other children, calling them her grandchildren too. She had a passion for sewing and crocheting, creating many works of art for family and friends. She also enjoyed card games, a cup of coffee and a game of cribbage in the morning, a good game of euchre, and was even known to participate in a game or two of poker.
Sandy is survived by her two girls: Shannon Vetter, Lombard, IL, Georgiann “Gigi” Snow (fiancé, Brandon Sparks) Westfield, five wonderful grandchildren: Christian Vetter, Arizona, Katherine “Katie” Vetter, Illinois, Maison Sparks, Amelia Sparks, and Zachary Broadnax, Westfield. She is further survived by her brother, Erwin “Punky” (Roxanne) Becker, Alabama, Alveria Harrington, California, Lorri (Gordie) Newville, Superior, Renita (Paul) Schultz, West Allis, Martha (Jeff) Kolins, Hartford, Tammie Jo Breen, Washington, sister’s-in-law Sylva Snow, Rebecca Pike, brother-in-law Donald Gordon, Mark Snow and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, George, parents, one sister, Aleta Rae Gordon, and a brother, Darryl Dean Gilge, sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Rickel and Sandra Weir, brothers-in-law: John, David, and James Snow, George “Rick” Rickel, Dale Weir and Lonnie Pike, and a nephew, Basil Snow.
A funeral service for Sondra Snow will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Janet Ruark will officiate and burial will follow at the Westfield South Cemetery.
