Sharen Lee Marotz

In loving memory of Sharen Lee (Rodger) Marotz, age 83, of Madison, WI passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 at Vista West. Sharen was born in Dodgeville on April 9, 1941 to Willard and Clara (Zuelke) Rodger. She was raised in Middleton, and graduated from Middleton High School. In late 1962, Sharen reconnected with her friend George Marotz. They were united in marriage on March 9, 1963 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Middleton.

Sharen moved to the Marotz family farm with George following their marriage. Sharen worked several jobs around the Westfield area with her steady job being a school bus driver for the Westfield School District - a job she held for 26 years. Sharen had many leisure interests in crafts, hunting, fishing, sports, Euchre and gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with friends, traveling and was a dedicated Maggie Mae enthusiast. Most of all Sharen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children; Brenda (Bill) Zeck of Third Lake, IL, Jim (Karla) Marotz of Harrisville, WI, and Sherry (Brad) Subera of Middleton, WI; six grandchildren, Ashley (Dan), Katlynn, Dylan (Jessica) Marotz, Vincent and Christoph (Madeline) Meixelsperger, Arianna Subera; two great grandchildren, OakLee and Jamisen Marotz. She is also survived by sisters, Sandy (Hugh) Cook, Susie (Georgie) Rodger-Wilson; niece, Alicia (Chris) Cook; sister-in-law, Elaine Judas and many other dear family and friends. 

Sharen is preceded in death by her husband, George; her son, Bryan Hart; her parents and several extended family members.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Vista West, St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Middleton and Agrace for supporting Sharen and her family.

A private burial service is being planned at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Newton.
