Robert Mentzel

Robert Thomas Mentzel, age 78 of Oxford, WI, passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with an aggressive cancer on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home.  He leaves behind his loving wife, Carmen Mentzel, his sons, Steven (Stephanie) Mentzel, Robert (Amy) Mentzel, and his daughter, Chris (Dave) Montez. Cherished grandfather (Papa) of Selena and Sheridan, Logan and Landon, Daniel and Sara, sisters, Judy (Danny) Lefeberve of South Carolina and Wanda (Gary) Eckardt of Arizona.

Robert was born December 29, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorraine (Swosinski) Mentzel, and sister, Nancy Wiggins.

Robert married Carmen Koller on September 26, 1964. Robert devoted his life to the military. He retired as Sgt. Robert Mentzel on December 29, 2001.

A private family service with military honors will be held at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield. Robert requested to be cremated. His ashes will be interred at Spring Grove Cemetery, WI Dells at a later date.
