Robert Johnson

Robert L. Johnson, age 83 of Oxford, WI, passed away surrounded by his girls on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI.  He was born on March 12, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Edwin and Nell (Carl) Johnson.  Bob graduated from Carl Schurz High School in 1957 and married his childhood sweetheart, Frances Sorenson on September 20, 1958 in Madison.  Bob and Fran lived in Illinois where they raised their two daughters.  Following Bob’s retirement they made Oxford, WI their home, which was Fran’s hometown.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Bob was a member of the Montello Rod & Gun Club where he served as secretary for many years and formed many friendships, just as he did at McDonalds in Westfield, WI with the lunch bunch.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fran; two daughters, Kim (Steven) Bickler, Elgin, IL and Lori (Ryan) Trader, Valparaiso, IN; three grandchildren, Dana (Ryan Heiney) Jacques, Kyle Jacques and Beth (Patrick) Kirby; great grandson, Mason Kirby; three step grandchildren, Chelsea Trader and her son, Coleson, Abagail (Kyle) Trzeciak and Hannah (Zach) Thorn; sister in law, Carol Gage; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan Johnson.

Bob will be greatly missed.
