Robert Goldsmith Sr.

Robert A. Goldsmith Sr., age 88 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Montello Care Center. He was born September 27, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Alfred and Viola (Krueger) Goldsmith.  He was a graduate of Westfield High School class of 1949.  He attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he played football.  He married Stella Buschke on August 12, 1951.  Robert farmed and was a masonry contractor all his working life.  He was strongly committed to his community.  He served as Town Chairman for Springfield Township and served on the Marquette County Board for 30 years.

Survivors include his six children: Robert (Dorothy) Goldsmith, Terry (Roberta) Goldsmith, Russell (Nancy) Goldsmith, Carmen Magee, Rodney Goldsmith and Rochelle Spatz; 12 grandchildren: Earl, Jolene, Quint, Mike, Ashley, Shanna, Shane, Tara, Cody, Shay, Jerry Jr. and Bert; 13 great grandchildren:  Ivan, Stella, Vivian, Brooklyn, Brittany, Kayden, Kyler, Kayanna, Grady, Sean, Julia, Danny and Kash; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella; sister, Yvonne (Eilef) Warp; two nephews, Don Henke and Jim Buschke; one niece, Vicki Arnett and son in law, Jerry Magee.

A funeral service for Robert will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield with Rev. Rodney Armon officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield.  A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
