Rev. Ronald E. Riemer, age 77 of Coloma, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Wild Rose Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1935 in Milwaukee to Frank and Bertha (King) Riemer.
Pastor Ron grew up in Milwaukee and has lived in Glendale, Cedarburg, Colgate, Germantown, West Bend and Coloma, WI as well as McMinnville, TN and Marion, OH. He was a Sgt. in the United State Marine Corps serving from 1953-1957. He married Phyllis Dreier on March 13, 1957 in Waukegan, IL. Pastor Ron served as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield and was a former Glendale Police Officer, Quality Control Engineer and Manager for Oster Mfg., Plant Superintendent for Kelley Co., Vice President of Manufacturing at Pillar Corp., President of Lift Rite and RER Enterprises Inc. He was an avid sportsman always looking forward to “Deer Camp” with his brother, son and son in laws. Pastor Ron loved and enjoyed serving his God, country and family, firmly believing “that all things happen for the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Phyllis; four daughters, Debbie (Lloyd) Keesler, Viroqua, Lori (George) Scheidt, West Bend, Sharon Rusch, Appleton and Carole (Layne) Bendekovich, Salt Lake City, UT; one son, Scott (Maureen), Hales Corners; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Edna), Germantown and Duane (Linda), Adel; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded to his heavenly home by his parents and sister, Arlene (Jerry) Sanborn, Jackson.
A funeral service for Pastor Ron will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
