Phillip Arnold Druce, age 83 of Portage, formerly of Westfield, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. He was born on June 14, 1930 in Waukegan, IL to George and Gladys (Turner) Druce. Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War. Upon his return, Phillip and his brother, David moved to Westfield where they farmed for 46 years. In 2006, he retired to Saddle Ridge in Portage along with David and Margie.
Survivors include his brother, David (Margie) Druce, Portage; two nephews, Mike (Leslie) Ratkowski and their children Dillon, Levi and Elizabeth and Matt Ratkowski; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service for Phillip will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Druce Cemetery in Grayslake, IL with full military honors.
