The family of Peggy Marie Fullmer announces her passing unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 77. Peggy was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of James and Kathleen (Daugherty) Schulte on January 3, 1948. She was the second oldest of nine children. She was raised in communities of Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. She was married to David Pruszka and had three daughters, Karen (Lon), Christine (Jorge), and Jill (Matthew) and seven grandchildren. Following her divorce, she remarried Robert Fullmer. The combined families allowed her to enjoy ten children and 25 grandchildren. Her family was one of her greatest joys and Grandma Peggy truly enjoyed that role…whether it was holding babies, singing to them, playing barbies or blocks, board games or cards, reading books, throwing or hitting the baseball, swimming and kayaking, climbing a mountain, cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, watching the performance or just being there on the other end of the phone/video call. Her endless energy and laughter could always be felt and heard, and her answer was always “Yes! I would like to come to that!”. Peggy was a wonderful cook. She never followed the same recipe twice and would often improvise ingredients, but it always seemed to work out, except occasionally when it didn’t! But it never upset her because that’s just the way it goes sometimes. Peggy enjoyed a lifelong career as a Speech Pathologist. She started her career at Waukesha County and later transitioned to Muskego/Norway School District where she worked until she retired in 2005. She had a lifelong dedication to service and liberal advocacy. She was the first woman in her school to advocate for maternity leave after the birth of her oldest daughter. She engaged in active teacher’s union leadership at all levels including international. She was active in service as a Red Cross first responder, joined in church missions in Nicaragua to build houses, she advocated for institutional support for community services, and lobbied congress for educational initiatives. Peggy was incredibly warm, loving and kind. She had the gift of being able to talk to people and set them at ease. Her strength and tenacity was not always seen due to her humble, unassuming way. She was “the best of the best” and she will be greatly missed.
Peggy was survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Robert. She leaves behind her children, Karen (Lon), Christine (Jorge), and Jill (Matthew); and step-children, Anna, Jay (Janeal), Jon (Rebeka), Rebecca (Matthew), Kathryn (Philip), Robert (Natalie), Adam (Mary). Her love extended to her grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Bella, Julia, David, Hailey, and Hayden, Tristan (Hannah), Kaelon (Mercury), Brenden, Ethan, Rachel (Ryan), Jacob (Katie), James, Joseph, Oliver, Elise, June, Emily, Alaina, Julie, Katie, Lillian, Maggie, and Samuel; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Alexis. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Kathleen, and her brother-in-law Michael Condit. She is further survived by her siblings, Kathleen, Patrick (Julie), James (Connie), Paul (Sue), Mary (Eddie), Sharon (Kirk), Steven (Joanne), and Robert (Victoria), and many other extended family and friends.
