Nellie Taft

Nellie M. Taft, age 85 of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at American Way in Portage. She was born on August 3, 1930 in Milwaukee to James and Lucy (Howland) Nipe. Nellie married Edward C. Taft on October 19, 1946. She worked at Brakebush Brothers for many years and alongside her husband, Nellie helped operate Ed’s Standard Service and then E & N Self Serve in Westfield. She finished her working career at McDonald’s of Westfield.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Donna) Taft Sr., Westfield; two grandsons, Richard (Muriel) Taft Jr., Cedarburg and Michael (Karen) Taft, Pardeeville; five great grandchildren, Connor, Jacob, Tanner, Abby and Jessica Taft; other relatives and friends. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A funeral service for Nellie will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home of Westfield with Pastor Alyson Janke officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
