Minerva “Mickey” Helm, age 81 of Grand Marsh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2013 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 11, 1932 in Toivola, MI to Eslie and Sadie (Lahti) Kommes. Mickey married Neal Helm on August 13, 1955 in Milwaukee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mickey enjoyed camping, fishing, baking, bowling, watching the Brewers and her church.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Neal; two daughters, Kathleen (Blaine) Morgan, Milwaukee and Ramona (Lenny) Wahlen, Racine; two grandchildren, Lauralynn Heidenreich and Jason Wahlen; one great granddaughter, Isabelle; one sister, Marilyn Katcher; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven of her siblings.
A memorial service for Mickey will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Gary H. Schultz officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
