Marilyn Grimmenga

Marilyn Frances Grimmenga, age 75 of Westfield, passed away at home with her husband by her side on Friday, July 4, 2008. She was born on July 12, 1932 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha (Smith) Tomlinson. Marilyn married Edmond Grimmenga on August 26, 1950 in Brookfield, IL. She was deeply involved in raising her family of seven children. Marilyn was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Altar Society, VFW Post #8718 Ladies Auxiliary all of Westfield and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed writing, painting, sewing and especially playing cards.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Edmond W. Grimmenga Sr.; her children, Michael (Helen) Grimmenga, Watertown, Cathryn Ahlstrom, Sun Prairie, Robert Grimmenga, Coloma, Jeffrey (Kathy) Grimmenga, Howards Grove, Steven (Teri) Grimmenga, Westfield, Dorothy (Dan) Linsenbigler, Golden, CO and Edmond (Carol) Grimmenga Jr., Weston; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert (Dolores) Tomlinson, Willowbrook, IL; other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by one brother Robert Tomlinson.
A mass of celebration for Marilyn will be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Rev. Michael Richel officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield South Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Budda Box Against Cancer.
