Mitzi Bogner (nee Hagenauer) of Chicago, longtime resident of Wilmette, IL, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021 at the age of 92. Beloved former wife of the late Nicholas K. Bogner and beloved sister of the late Frieda Petrik. Loving mother of John (Lynn) Bogner, Walter (Katie) Bogner, Herbert (Leslie) Bogner, and the late Christopher Bogner. Proud grandmother of Alison (Charlie) Ruble, Laura (Neil) Godfrey, Emily (Cody) Burk, Pamela (Daniel) McCormick, Nicole (Michael) McMillan, Amanda Bogner, Karl Bogner, and Kurtis Bogner. Proud great-grandmother of Julia and Tristan Ruble, Jonathan and Megan Godfrey, Caroline and Brady Burk, Duncan and Noelle McCormick, and Lochlan, Everly, and Eleanor McMillan.

Mitzi was born on August 9, 1928, in Unter Dombach, Styria, Austria, where she met the love of her life, Nick. Having endured the hardship of the war, they emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Wilmette where they raised their boys. She was a devoted mother who always put her family first. She enjoyed needlepoint and was an excellent cook.

No service will be held at this time. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. The interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harris Villa Assisted Living in Westfield, WI or Agnesian Hospice Hope in Fond du Lac, WI, as the family is so grateful for providing her with wonderful care.
