Lyle Allen Pike, age 68 of Oxford, passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1940 in the Township of Douglas, Marquette County. Lyle married Beverly Frost on December 2, 1961 in Oxford. He attended Oxford High School. Lyle proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a talented wood worker and he used that skill while working and operating lumber yards, the family wood craft business along side of his wife and later working for the Tri-County school system until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughter, Lori (Chris) Higgins, Fremont; son, Todd (Mary) Pike, Plainfield; three grandchildren, Kyle (Elisha) Higgins, Megan Higgins and Medina Pike; two great granddaughters, Kassidy Higgins and Brianne Langkau; his mother, Velma Alexander, Oxford; brother, Lonnie (Rebecca) Pike, Oxford; special aunt, Lalah Sorenson, Oxford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his father, Lee Pike; granddaughter, Alahna Pike; brother, Faye Pike.
A memorial service for Lyle will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Inurnment will be held in the spring in Oxford Village Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the family.
