Lorraine M. Rodger, age 89 of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on April 30, 1928 in Oxford to Vernon and Dorothy (Manteufel) Nelson. Lorraine married Lester “Bill” Rodger on October 7, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa. She was an active member of Oxford Bible Church and was known for being a great reference for her knowledge of local history. Lorraine enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, holidays and most of all, her grandchildren.
Survivors include her four children, Donald (Pam) Bade, West Bend, Steve (Julie) Rodger, Coloma, Bill (Mary) Rodger, Westfield and Kathy (Terry) Thorne, Oxford; 11 grandchildren, Eric (Blerta) Bade, Elizabeth (Derek) Butson, Ryan Rodger, Tara (Bryan) Brom, Laura (Brian) Busch, Karen (Charley) Manley, Jeff (Jennifer) Rodger, Brooke (Eric) Daley, Christopher (Brenda) Thorne, Ashley (Louie) Penaflor and Angela Rodger; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma (Bernard) Bonnett, Fond du Lac and Shirley Keckler, Beaver Dam; one brother, Harry “Sonny” (Sharon) Nemitz, Oxford; special nephew, Kim (Martha) Gaffney, Oxford; many other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Robyn Rodger; sister, Bethel Gaffney and an infant brother, Arthur Nelson.
A visitation for Lorraine will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Oxford Bible Church followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald Wedel officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Village Cemetery.
