LaVerne Persack

November 20, 1930 — September 3, 2006

LaVerne Grace Persack, age 75 of Harrisville, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at her home. She was born on November 20, 1930, Township of Newton, daughter of the late Albert and Pauline "Lena" (Groskreutz) Marquardt. LaVerne married Donald M. Persack on April 3, 1948 in Budsin, he preceded her in death on June 16, 1992. She attended Westfield High School and later graduated at the age of 70 which was one of her proudest achievements. LaVerne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville where she was a Sunday school and Bible Class teacher for several years. She was the Treasurer of Harris Township from 1955-1975. LaVerne worked at Power Packer, Westfield until her retirement. Following her retirement she remained active doing medical transports for the Marquette County Commission on Aging and working with Northland Home Health. LaVerne enjoyed visits from family and friends, especially her grandchildren, her door was always open.
Survivors include four children, Bonnie (Larry) Capes, Rochelle, IL, Thomas (Diane) Persack, Harrisville, Patty (Jim Petrain) Magee, Wisconsin Dells and Michael (Lisa) Persack, Endeavor; special friend, Bill Deuel, Wautoma; seven grandchildren, Rodney Miller, Jamie Magee, Stefan, Alyssa and Kaitlyn Persack, Nate and Jaclyn Considine; six great grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Shawn, Shannon, Brandon and Anna Rose; two brothers, Marvin and Arlie (Doris) Marquardt, Westfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. LaVerne was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Rose; granddaughter, Ronni Miller and an infant brother, Arnold Marquardt.
A funeral service for LaVerne will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville with Rev. Robert Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Harrisville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.
