John “Jack” George Mazzuca, age 74 of Brooks, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home. He was born on June 18, 1945 in Chicago to George J. Mazzuca and Dorothy E. Raska-Trapp. Jack worked in manufacturing at Illinois Coil Springs and Admiral TV. He also loved his job with the Fox Lake Police Dept. which he worked for 10 years and Waterway Patrol on the chain. In retirement, Jack was a volunteer Fire Warden for Adams County. He was an avid gun collector, enjoyed playing cards, boating, fishing, camping, tinkering in his garage and riding his golf cart around his property. Jack was an excellent dancer and loved the Jitterbug. He also loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his four children, Joseph G. (Kris), Johnsburg, IL, John D., Oxford, WI, James M. (Kris), Pardeeville, WI and Tamara L. (Brent) Mazzuca, Rio, WI; six grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon, Brady, Kailey, Brooklyn and Jackson; other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ken.
A funeral service for Jack will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Oxford with Pastor Brenda Pulver officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Jack will be buried on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jack’s name.
