Jean Hooper

Jean Monica Hooper, age 75 of Westfield, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on July 4, 1941 in Iron Mountain, MI to William and Marjorie (Brown) Laughlin. Jean graduated from Westfield High School in 1959. She married Harold F. Hooper on February 13, 1965 in Waukegan, IL. Jean worked at Power Packer “Jack Plant” of Westfield for over 25 years, retiring in 2011. Some of her favorite past times were reading, traveling, researching family history, spending time with her 59er’s, taking family pictures, but most of all it was time on her patio swinging on her swing visiting with family and friends (the squirrels were not welcome).

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Kelly) Huber, Westfield; three sons, Mike, TX, Pat (Tracy), Plainfield and Tim (Myrna), Oxford; four grandchildren, Patrick, Monica, Heidi and Nick; six great grandchildren, Sabrina, Michael, Tiana, Derek, Lydia and Dakota; one brother, Bill (Kari) Laughlin, Westfield; aunt, Sister Margaret James, MN; many other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A funeral service for Jean will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield South Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
