Irene Maria (nee Mike) Schrank, previously of Westfield, resident of Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma, was born on October 16, 1914 in the Township of Newton, Marquette County, daughter of the late Albert and Martha (Marotz) Mike.
Irene was baptized into the Christian faith on October 18, 1914 by Pastor Ed Theel. She was confirmed on July 13, 1930 by Pastor T. Fiess at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Newton. Irene married Albert R. Schrank on September 9, 1935 in Budsin.
Irene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield and a member of their Senior Group. She had been employed at Brakebush Brothers for 25 years.
Irene is survived by two sons, Donald (Audrey), Westfield, and Robert, Montello; three grandchildren, Thomas (Tammy) Schrank, DePere, Sheryl (Scott) Stein, Wauwatosa and Laurie (Michael) Bowers, Oxford; eight great grandchildren, Alan, Brady and Cordell Schrank, Heather and Jordan Stein, and Darnell, Shania and Huston Bowers; two brothers, Edwin (Gladys) Mike and Harold (Alma) Mike of Westfield; one brother-in-law, Frank Rutar, Montello; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Albert; one daughter-in-law, Mary Schrank; her parents; two sisters, Esther Rutar and Doris Manweiler, and two brothers in infancy.
A funeral service for Irene will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Vicar Ron Riemer officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield.
