Harold Hartenstein

February 16, 1929 — January 28, 2015

Harold H. Hartenstein, age 85 of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. He was born on February 16, 1929 in Hannibal, WI to Antonio and Remona (Hendrix) Hartenstein. Harold worked at R.E.A. stringing high lines from 1947 to 1949. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Harold married Doris M. Tullis on February 25, 1961 in Milwaukee. He worked for Genarac Co. in Waukesha for 22 years. Following his retirement, Harold and Doris moved to the Oxford area in 1989. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harold was a member of American Legion Post #244 of Westfield.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; three children, Mark (Lisa), Dousman, Kevin (JoAnne), Brookfield and Pamela (Don) Faretta, Coloma; three grandchildren, Brandi and Antonio Faretta and Jessica (Enrique) Rivera; special canine companion, Candy; one sister, Irene (Gerald) McKenzie, Mukwonago; other relatives and many friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Grace Gifford, Lorayne Harmon and Virginia Brown; three brothers, Wallace, Raymond and Daniel.

A funeral service for Harold will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Town of Westfield with full military honors presented by Westfield Area Veterans. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
