Glenn Kemnitz Sr.

Westfield

Glenn Robert Kemnitz Sr. , age 81 of Westfield passed away Saturday evening, December 26, 2020 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.  Glenn was born at home in Town of Springfield, Marquette County to Hugo and Ella (Lange) Kemnitz on January 13, 1939.  He married Suzanne Jandos at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Richford and together they had four children.  Glenn and Suzanne moved to Harrisville for a short time until returning to Springfield to continue farming.  Glenn held several other jobs throughout his life but farming was his passion.  He always stayed busy tinkering, doing mechanic work and was also an avid reader.  Glenn will be remembered for hard days worked, cold beer, always enough candy to share and the love of family gatherings.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 61 years, Suzanne and four children: Glenn Jr. (Tami) of Westfield, Peggy (Brian) Russell of Oxford, Margery (Larry) Budiac of West Bend and Mary (Denny Cochrane) Kemnitz of Westfield as well as eight grandchildren: Jeremy (Cari), Amanda, Hanna (Travis), Mayghan, Lukas, Michael (Stephanie), Ashley (Donald), and Douglas and ten great-grandchildren: Wesley, Carmen, Lucius, Layla, Tori, Isaiah, Hayden, Aaron, Logan and Claire.   He is also survived by one brother, LeRoy (Patti) and sisters-in-law: Ann Kemnitz, Lillian Kemnitz and Beverly Kemnitz.  Glenn is further survived by in-laws and other extended family members.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Ella, and siblings: Howard, Elmer (Josephine), Arden, Melvin, Eldon, Lydia (Lester) Nelson and Alvina (Wallace) Rozek.

A memorial service for Glenn Sr., Suzanne and Glenn Jr. will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating.  Inurnment will be held following the service at Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield.  Please join the family for a luncheon following the inurnment service at the Springfield Town Hall.  Due to everyone’s generosity at the time Glenn Sr., Suzanne and Glenn Jr. passed away, the family is asking for no further memorials at this time.
