Gertrude "Gertie" Davey

Gertrude “Gertie” Davey, age 90 of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at her home.  She was born on January 22, 1929 in Buffalo, NY to Raymond and Eleanor (Short) Sargent.  Gertie spent her childhood in Newburyport, Massachusetts.  She married Benjamin Davey on July 27, 1957 in Newburyport. Together they moved and made their home in Westfield.  Gertie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Paul (Jen) Davey, Town of Harris; four grandchildren, John (Melissa) Davey and their two sons, Benjamin and Owen, Justice Davey and Mike and Adam Phillips; other relatives and many friends.  Gertie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.

A memorial service for Gertie will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church in Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating.  A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at the church.
