Gerold Schliepp

Gerold W. Schliepp, age 90 formerly of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at his apartment in Ripon. He was born on May 2, 1920 in Richford, WI, son of the late Albert and Emma (Schroeder) Schliepp. Gerry married Sadie Bandt on February 14, 1942 in Coloma, she preceded him in death on April 15, 1991. He proudly served his country during WW II with the United States Army during which time he helped construct the Alcan Highway. Gerry was a jack of all trades spending his time working as a farmer, as a maintenance mechanic for Brakebush Brothers and as a mechanic operating his small engine repair shop out of his home. He also enjoyed to dance and work with wood.
Survivors include his four children, Delores (Wendell) Foote, Rosendale, Wanda (Dan) Klawitter, Montello, Geraldine (Jimmy) Cavanaugh, Westfield and Stuart (Debbie) Schliepp, Green Lake; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister in law, Faye Schliepp, Coloma; brother in law, Arden (Mary Jane) Bandt, Coloma; special friend, Charlotte Peterson, Ripon and many other relatives and friends. Gerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin and Raymond (Esther) Schliepp.
A funeral service for Gerry will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Rev. Robert Fictum officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
