Gerard Marcelain

Gerard John Marcelain, age 89 of Westfield, Wisconsin, formerly of Waukegan, Illinois went home to Jesus on Thursday, November 18,2010 at the Montello Care Center. He was born June 24, 1921 in Gay, Michigan the son of Thomas and Elmire (Ricord) Marcelain. At the age of 4 his parents moved with him to Waukegan, Illinois. Before moving to Westfield he worked at Ammco Tools in North Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Evelyn (Cossman) Marcelain whom he married on June 28, 1947 in Waukegan, Illinois. Further survived by 9 children, Elliot (Helen) of Fond du Lac, WI, Brian (Sue) Beach Park, IL, Mark (Gail) Winthrop Harbor, IL, Karen (Dave) Wadsworth, IL, Roger (Dawn) of Westfield, WI, Grant (Lisa) Portage, WI, Margaret (Richard) Cairns Westfield, WI, John of Killeen, TX, Julie Meyers of Adams, WI. Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 5 sisters, 2 sons Thomas and Anthony and one grandson Steven Elliot.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jack will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Rev. Michael Richel officiating. Following the services full military honors will be held at the church. Jack’s wishes were to then be cremated. Inurnment will be in Westfield South Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
