Geneva Winkler

Geneva M. Winkler, age 84 of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Hess Memorial Hospital, Mauston. She was born on October 10, 1924 in Portage, daughter of the late William and Mildred (Sybell) Dewar. Geneva married Allie G. Winkler on August 20, 1949 in Lake Villa, IL. Allie preceded her in death on September 17, 2000. She enjoyed dancing, going to horse races, snowmobiling and was a member and treasurer of the Westfield Whitetrackers. Geneva volunteered her time with every election at the Village of Westfield voting site.
Survivors include four children, Sharon (Brian) LeWellyn, Oshkosh, Allen (Patricia) Winkler, Richford, Doug (Sang) Winkler, Oshkosh and Randy (Suzanne) Winkler, Harrisville; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Henningsen, Brooks; other relatives and many friends. Geneva was preceded in death by her son, Gary Marshall; two grandchildren; one sister and one brother.
A funeral service for Geneva will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Pastor Barb Merwin officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
