Gail A. Johnson, age 77 of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. She was born on September 29, 1935 in Iron Mountain, MI to Elmer and Adeline (Plante) Groleau.
Gail and her husband George came to Westfield in 1985 when he was transferred from ABS Colorado to ABS in DeForest. Before moving to Wisconsin Gail was employed at Colorado State University as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Environmental Resources Center and also as Campus Research Coordinator. She was self-employed prior to her positions at CSU. George and Gail raised and showed Arabian/Quarter horses as a hobby.
Gail is survived by her niece, Marian Walters and nephew, Sas Locke and their families in the Westfield area; sister, Vickie Gephart, Marinette; two nieces, Missy Peterman, Brookfield and Mary Jane Porter, Richfield ; nephew, David Groleau, CA and their families; two step daughters, Arlene Justus, CO and Sandra Blevins, TX; step son, Kenny Johnson, CO and their families; other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Arlene Locke and Connie Farley; brother, Alan Groleau.
In accordance with Gail’s wishes there will be no service held as she always said she wanted family and friends to remember her with happy memories. Inurnment will be in Riverside “Lawrence” Cemetery, Town of Westfield, WI at a later date.
