Evelyn Thiede

Evelyn E. Thiede, age 96 of Montello, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Montello Care Center-Assisted Living. She was born on March 21, 1911 in Packwaukee to August and Pauline (Hintz) Walters. Her mother passed away shortly after her birth and she was raised by Edward and Ella Hintz. Evelyn graduated from Milwaukee County General School of Nursing in 1932. She married Alfred "Chuck" Thiede on August 20, 1934. After raising her family she worked as a Registered Nurse at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage for ten years before retiring.
Survivors include her three children, Mary Ellen (Glenn) Thalacker, Harrisville, Lucille Thiede, Sun Prairie and Ralph (Pat) Thiede, Madison; 11 grandchildren, Mike Robinson, Barb (Ken) Accola, Dave (Cathy) Robinson, Linda (Doug) Isberner, Steve (Heidi) Robinson, Brenda (Bryon) Halverson, Patrick (Janet) and Sue Thalacker, Tricia (Mike) Wittig, Liz (Aaron) Wegand and Tara Thiede; many great and great great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn (John) Heller, Menomonee Falls; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Kathleen Robinson; son, Jimmy Thiede; infant granddaughter; three sisters and six brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello with Rev. Michael Richel officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service at the church.
