Eugene “Gene” W. Tonn, age 88 of Packwaukee, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his home. He was born on October 8, 1921 in Packwaukee, son of the late Emil and Martha (Walters) Tonn. Gene proudly served his country during WW II with the United States Air Force. He worked at Speed Queen, Ripon for 28 years and Dairyland Poultry, Endeavor for a few years. Gene was a member of the Oxford VFW. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeannette (Fran) Winkler, Packwaukee; one grandson, Cory Tonn, Madison; other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Arthur (Joyce) Tonn.
A memorial service for Gene will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Packwaukee with Rev. Brian Rohde officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Township of Packwaukee. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
