Elsie Joan Stalker

Elsie Joan (Tronnier) Stalker, age 89 years, of Westfield, WI, died on November 18, 2024 at the Montello Care Center, Montello, WI, surrounded by her children. She was born on July 4, 1935 in Cudahy, WI to John and Stella (Inman) Tronnier. She graduated from Birnamwood High School, Birnamwood, WI in 1953 and married Jack Stalker on December 4, 1954 in Wittenberg, WI.

She was a homemaker for 30 years after her marriage to Jack, and raised five children, all of whom have survived her: Mike (Jean) of Westfield, WI, Jackie (Rick) Landes of Westfield, WI; Jeanette (Rick) Conine of Kaukauna, WI; Joe (Melissa) of Presque Isle, WI; and Heather (Frank) Stephens of Hilbert, WI. She is further survived by many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren scattered across the United States. In 1985, she went back to school and obtained her certification as a nursing assistant (CNA). She worked for the next 20 years as a home health aid for Northland Home Health as well as many of the local CBRFs, taking care of friends and neighbors. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, in 1987, as well as her parents and all of her brothers (6) and sisters (3). She was the last family member of her generation on both sides to pass away. 

A memorial service will be held at the Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield, WI at 11:00 on Monday morning, December 9, 2024; to be followed by a luncheon celebrating her life to immediately follow at 12:00 at Thal Acres in Westfield, WI.

Elsie’s family would like to thank the staff at the Montello Care Center, Agrace Hospice, and MD Hema Patel of the UW Clinic in Portage, WI for the compassionate and loving care they gave to her, especially through the last five months of her life. Also, thanks to Steinhaus-Holly for guiding us through the necessary arrangements at the end of her life.
