Ella Amelia Hell, age 100 of Westfield was called to her eternal rest on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Montello Care Center. She was born on April 27, 1907 in Township of Neshkoro, the oldest of four children to William and Emma (Tagatz) Muehrer. Ella was baptized on May 20, 1907 and confirmed on March 10, 1921 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Germania. She graduated from Neshkoro High School in 1925 and then went to Green Lake County Normal School where she got her teachers permit to teach in Marquette County. On April 30, 1932 she was married to Otto R. Hell and they were married for 50 years when Otto passed away on October 23, 1982. Ella helped her husband on the family farm in the Township of Newton for many years. She also worked for Brakebush Brothers for 14 years and spent 10 years as the Town Clerk for the Township of Newton.
Survivors include two daughters, LaVerne (Arden) Pomplun, Wautoma, Elaine (Harry) Gramse, Westfield; one son, Edwin (Delores) Hell, Westfield; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ella was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Wegner and Edna Nickolai; one brother, Elmer Muehrer and great granddaughter, Nicole Polfuss.
A funeral service for Ella will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Newton with Rev. Ronald Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
