Elda Briese

Elda E. Briese, age 93 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Montello Care Center. She was born on July 14, 1921 in the Town of Springfield, Wisconsin to Herman and Minnie Schrank. Elda married Darwin F. Briese on March 15, 1942. Darwin preceded her in death on March 16, 1994. She worked as a homemaker and at Brakebush Brothers for 17 years. Elda was well known for her blue ribbon pies.

Survivors include her six children, Dennis (Karlene), Montello, Barbara Ely, Coloma, Darlene Mork, Westfield, Darwin Jr. (Diane), IL, Leroy (Loretta), Westfield and Bette (Jeff) Werdin, Montello; 35 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; two brothers in law, Herbert Briese, Westfield and Gordon Briese, Kenosha; many other relatives and friends. Elda was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Joyce Elmer; two sons in law, Wayne Mork and Tom Ely; two grandsons, Caleb Johnson and Scott Ely; great grandson, Cody Meinke.

A funeral service for Elda will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Gary H. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
