Elaine Schraufnagel

Elaine F. Schraufnagel, age 84 of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.  She was born on April 11, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Frances (Zima) Sawicki. Elaine married Jim Schraufnagel on August 18, 1956 in Green Bay, he preceded her in death on April 10, 2011.  Elaine and her husband owned and operated the Sandman Motel in Westfield for 25 years.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield.  Elaine loved feeding and watching the birds along with other wildlife.

Elaine is survived by her seven children, Bob, Green Bay, Candy (Rick) Coey, Missouri, Gary (June), Lake Linden, MI, Jim (Kimberly), Harrisville, Steve (Linette), Westfield, David (Candy Ann), Oxford and Rick (Chris), Montello; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren with one (Frankie) on the way; one sister, Pat (Clete) Greatens; one brother, Ron (Joan) Sawicki; her dog, Peanut; her cat, Troubles and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her brother, Denis Sawicki.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield with Father Savio Yerasani officiating.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield.  Inurnment will be in Harrisville Cemetery at a later date.
