Edwin Mike

Edwin Albert Mike, age 87 of Westfield, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at his home. He was born on September 7, 1924 in the Town of Newton to Albert and Martha (Marotz) Mike. Edwin was baptized on September 21, 1924 and confirmed on July 24, 1938 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Newton. He married Gladys Meyer on September 28, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, Neshkoro. Edwin has farmed in the Town of Harris since March 24, 1947.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Gladys; two children, Janice (John) Parrish, Redgranite and Kenneth (Sonja) Mike, Westfield; two grandsons, Derrick (friend, Virginia) Mike, Westfield and Brandon (Kristin) Mike, Oshkosh; three step granddaughters, Cheretee (friend, Matt) Brown, Westfield, Dawn Ciro, IL and Patti Avent, IL; one great grandson, Dawson; two sisters in law, Alma (Eldon) Wagner, Westfield and Lois (Carl) Groskreutz, Wausau; brother in law, Frank Rutar, Montello. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; two infant brothers; three sisters, Esther Rutar, Irene Schrank and Doris Manweiler; one brother, Harold Mike; one nephew, David Mike; four brothers in law, Elmer Buchholz, Albert Schrank, Gerry Manweiler and Alvin Bohn.

A funeral service for Edwin will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Dale Bahls and Rev. Daniel Bohn officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
