Dorothy Helen Shelton, 86 years young, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Montello Care Center. She was born on June 27, 1933 in Glen Ellyn, IL, daughter of the late Carl and Alice (Hoseth) Tauber. Dorothy married Arthur J. Shelton on January 17, 1953 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Dorothy was a stay at home mother and housewife who loved tending to her flower garden, playing tennis and aerobics at the local gym, an extremely talented painter and lover of all animals. She lived for her family and making sure that everyone was well taken care of and feed at all times. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and treasured every minute she spent with them.
Survivors include her three children, Carl (Lisa) Shelton of Gillett, WI, Cindy (Steve) Tribble of Lombard, IL and Clifford (Rychell) Shelton of Westfield, WI; her youngest sister, Shirley Wolfe; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Bobbi, Carl, Christina, Cory, Jen, John, Jorden, Melissa and Sarah; eleven great-grandchildren, Adele, August, Brayden, Dylan, Gunnar, IreLynn, Landon, Madison, Maycee, Nicolas and Rozalynn; other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Art; three sisters, Ruth, Marge, and Carol and one brother, Robert.
One thing we are sure of is that she has been reunited with the love of her life, and they are both roaming the farm once again.
Dorothy’s wishes were to be cremated, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Montello Care Center for assistance in caring for Dorothy. We would also like to thank Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home.
