Dorothy M. Schrank, age 69 of Westfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 16, 1945 in Toledo, OH to Nickolas and Glendora (Fleitz) Schumann. Dorothy married Arnold J. Schrank on August 3, 1974 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield. Arnie preceded her in death on May 1, 2006. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for 40 years where she taught Sunday school for 14 years. Dorothy worked for Brakebush Brothers and currently was working for Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Weishaar Farm. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and her flower garden.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tami (Jim) Groskreutz and Tara (Scott) Schroeder, both of Coloma; six grandchildren, Brandon and Isaac Rau, Brianna, Olivia and Danielle Schroeder and Johnathan Groskreutz; two sisters, Patricia Tolbert and Judi Rucki, both of Ohio; one step brother, George Cross; two sisters in law, Alma (Eldon) Wagner and Ruth (Terry) Hillestad; many other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Schumann.
A memorial service for Dorothy will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Gary H. Schultz officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
