Donald Marso

Donald J. Marso, age 75, Town of Packwaukee, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, May 20, 2011 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1936 in Aberdeen, SD, son of the late Raymond and Sofia (Mancin) Marso. Don married Carol Blair on March 15, 1964 in Minooka, IL. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Don held several jobs throughout his life but his last was at Walmart in Portage, which he enjoyed immensely. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, roller skating, slot machines and most of all his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol; five children, Brenda Marso, CA, Donald Marso, Madison, Cheryl (David) Rasnick, Oxford, Donna Sue (Patrick) Peschel, Sun Prairie and Ann Marie Marso, Wisconsin Dells; 12 grandchildren; one great granddaughter with two great grandsons on the way; brother in law, Jim Madden, PA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Madden and two brothers, George Eleff and Ray Marso.
A funeral service for Don will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Burial will be held in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
