Cynthia Louise Giese

Cynthia Louise Giese, age 83 of Coloma, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 29, 2023.  Cindy was born November 1, 1939 to Leslie and Mary Jane Linaberry.  She graduated from Westfield Union Free High School with the class of 1957.

She married Thomas Giese on August 2, 1958 at her parents’ home in Russell Flats.  They were blessed with four children.  While her children were young she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, being a 4-H leader in the horse project and being a den mother for the Westfield Cub Scouts.  Cindy loved the outdoors and gardening, fishing and feeding the birds.

For many years she and her companion Jerry Cardo enjoyed wintering in Arizona.  Her love of her children and grandchildren gave her the greatest pleasure.  She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church.  Cindy is survived by her children Mike (Jeannie) Giese, Mark (Nancy) Giese, Kay Giese and Paul (Ashley) Giese; grandchildren Megan, Shelby, Jenna, Molly, Megan and Owen; and three great-grandchildren Bailey, Levi and Johanna, as well as other relatives and many dear friends.  Her parents, infant brother Leslie and brother Bob preceded her in death, along with granddaughter Leslie and companion Jerry Cardo.

Services will be held at South Burr Oak United Methodist Church near Coloma on Saturday, August 12, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Leonard Capobianco officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the service at the church.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.  A private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Russell Flats.  Cindy and her family are grateful for the excellent and compassionate care provided by St. Croix Hospice.
