Connie Thompson

Connie Christine (Swader) Thompson passed away on October 22, 2010. She was born July 6th, 1947 at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage WI, the daughter of Aloise "Murphy" & Everetta "Sis" Swader. Connie was a graduate of Westfield High School & Milwaukee Accredited Beauty School, going on to receive a Barbering and Cosmetology Manager's License. The last several years she has been employed at American Family Insurance.

Her sense of humor and her warm caring heart will be remembered as well as her love for Harley Davidsons, many special friends and the Green Bay Packers, especially getting married at Lambeau Field.

She is survived by her husband and Best Friend Dude, her loving son Jason, special daughter-in-law Sarah and the joy of her life her grandson Jack, a brother Robert of Montello, sister Gretchen of MN and aunt, Grace Kruger, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws: Rodney, Roxanna, Rhonda, Rhoda, Russell, Rena, Regina, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Petrea and Hally, mother and father-in-law Ervin and Alma Thompson, and brother-in-law Roger.

It was important for Connie and family to mention how very grateful they have been for Pastor Bill and the wonderful people that have touched their hearts in so many ways. A special thank you to Dr. Anne Traynor and her team for their kindness and support at the UW Paul Carbone Center and to Dr. Tracey Weigel for her kind and honest words. A warm thanks to Northland and the special nurses Jaimie, Barb and Vicki and our deepest gratitude to Nan and her wonderful staff at Harris Villa.


A memorial service for Connie will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield South Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Connie's name to Budda Box Fight Against Cancer of Marquette County, Faith United Methodist Church or the UW Carbone Center Oncology for lung cancer research.
