Clyde Fields Harvey, age 85 of Westfield, WI, formerly of Beloit, passed away peacefully embraced in the arms of his children on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at his home. He was born on March 12, 1923 in Decorah, Iowa, son of the late Harry and Myrtle (Greenslade) Harvey. Clyde married Mary Jean Sharp on June 27, 1948, she preceded him in death in 1978. He then was married to Rosemary Thompson on April 12, 1980, she preceded him in death in 2004 . Clyde proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during WW II. He farmed in Iowa until 1958 when he moved to Beloit. He was employed at Beloit Corp. until his retirement and then moving to Westfield. He was a member of VFW Post 8718, Westfield. Clyde enjoyed fishing, gardening and his family.
Survivors include his four children, Janice (Charles) Potter, Beloit, Scott (Jean) Harvey, Beloit, Camille (Joseph) Stelzer, Colfax and Gerald Harvey, Westfield; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one brother, Warren (Ines) Harvey, Cresco, Iowa; close friends, Wayne Lee, Westfield and Vern and Jan Riese, Brodhead and other relatives and friends. Clyde was preceded in death by one son, Keiron Harvey; one granddaughter, Theresa Harvey; two great granddaughters; two brothers; five sisters.
A memorial service for Clyde will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Burr Oak Methodist Church, Burr Oak, Iowa with Rev. Mike Levins officiating. Inurnment will be in Burr Oak Cemetery, Iowa.
