Cecil W. Labrenz, age 82 of New Lisbon, formerly of Oxford, passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Hospice Touch in Tomah. He was born on August 14, 1925 in Oxford, son of the late William and Bernice (Drew) Labrenz. Cecil married Clara Reid on February 15, 1947 in Oxford, she preceded him in death on March 22, 1985. On April 17, 1999 Cecil was married to Shirley (nee Drinkwater) Henningsen in Oxford. He farmed in Montello for 25 years and retired from Speed Queen in Ripon. Cecil was an avid Packer, Badger and Brewer fan. He was a great sportsman who enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and trapping.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Labrenz; three daughters, Kathy (David) Carter, Reedsburg, Cheryl (Kerry) Kuwitzky, Mauston, Joy (Mike) Klingaman, Wisconsin Dells; one step son, Mike (Sandi) Henningsen, Harvard, IL; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Margie Mateske, Montello; one brother, Edward Labrenz, Montello; other relatives and friends. Cecil was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Labrenz and one step daughter, Pamela Suchy.
A memorial service for Cecil will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oxford with Rev. Brian Rohde officiating. Inurnment will be in Oxford Village Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
