Beatrice "Beatty" M. Weiss, age 80 of Montello, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her home. She was born on May 29, 1927 in Wausaukee, daughter of the late Frances Smith. Bea married Elmer Weiss on August 16, 1947, he preceded her in death in 1996. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and business owner, who owned and operated Wilderness Campground of Montello for the past 38 years. Bea formed many great friendships with campers whom she considered to be family. She was very active in W.A.C.O.-Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners. Bea worked for EZ Painter Corp., Milwaukee for 25 years and was a past member of the Montello School Board.
Survivors include her two children, Robert (Melanie) Weiss and Bonnie (Randy) Polk of Montello; five grandchildren, Ashley and Laramie-Leigh Weiss and Ciara, Morgan and Paige Polk; one brother, Clarence (Vi) Smith, Milwaukee; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother Everett Smith.
A funeral service for Bea was held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 7:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Montello with Rev. Mark Kolander officiating. A visitation was held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the hour of service at the church.
Services will also be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 12:00 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield in the main building-Chapel of the Chimes with Rev. David Kolander officiating. Interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the cemetery.
