Arlene Quinn

August 10, 1927 — April 17, 2016

Arlene Dora Quinn, age 88 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, WI with her daughters by her side.

Arlene was born on August 10, 1927 in the Town of Richford to Henry and Anna (Wichner) Wedde. Arlene was the youngest of ten children and grew up helping on the family farm where her chores included digging potatoes and picking pickles with two sisters and five brothers. Two other siblings died at a very young age.

Arlene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served in several capacities. She was also a member of the Suburbanites Homemakers group and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. She was well known throughout the community for helping others. Arlene was a very caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, spending time each day at the nursing home with Charles while he was ill. Following retirement from farming Arlene and Charles also had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Venden “Vince”) Leach, Tucson, AZ and Crysti (Chris) Prange, Lancaster, WI; three grandchildren, Quinn Leach, Milwaukee; Sarah Prange (Nick Weiss), Madison and Valerie Prange (fiancé Lucas Sawtelle), LaCrosse; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wedde, Wautoma and Lieselotte Wedde, Tucson, AZ; many other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Charles in December 2013, her parents and her brothers and sisters.

A funeral service for Arlene will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Westfield with Pastor Alyson Janke officiating. Burial will be in the Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the First Presbyterian Church.
