Alice Mularkey

December 16, 1922 — October 12, 2009

Alice M. Mularkey, age 86 of Township of Lincoln, Adams County, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Harris Villa, Township of Harris. She was born on December 16, 1922 in Westfield, daughter of the late Alvin and Alta (Bishop) Mussey. Alice graduated from Westfield High School as valedictorian in 1939. She went onto receive her teachers certificate from Stevens Point. Alice taught for several area school districts retiring from the Adams-Friendship school district following more than 30 years of teaching. She continued to volunteer at local schools for many more years. Alice and her husband, Pat were longtime members of the Wisconsin Horse Racing Association. She enjoyed going out to eat and socializing. Alice followed her son, Pat’s softball teams and took special pleasure sponsoring “Mumzee’s” in the annual Labor Day tournament in Grand Marsh.
Survivors include four children, Darlene (Richard) Groszkiewicz, Robert Hauser, Linda (David) Fresch and Patrick (Penny) Mularkey; nine grandchildren, Holly Nowicki, Heather (Todd) Mayer, Lincoln Hauser, Keith (Melanie) and Shane (Deidre) Fresch, Kathi (Eric) Gayheart, Shannon (Sean) Seiler, Lance and Alicia Mularkey; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Gerard; brother in law, Don (Dorothy) Mularkey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Myron “Pat” Mularkey and one sister, Edna Mae Schronk.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be held in the spring of 2010.
