Alice Mae Drewitz, age 61 of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Alice was born June 30, 1959 in Elkhorn, WI to Lawrence and Mertie (Rumppe) Beier. Alice was the youngest of their 11 children.
She grew up in Delevan and moved to Wilton when she was in high school. Alice graduated from Royall High School in Elroy and then went onto college in Lacrosse at WTC.
She married Dean Drewitz on May 16, 1992 in Westfield, WI. They had two kids and raised their children in their home in Westfield.
Alice worked at FCI Oxford as a Capitan’s secretary for 30 years until she retired on her 57th birthday.
In recent years, Alice developed a love for couponing, and boy was she good at it. Her favorite store to frequent was the Dollar General. By couponing she was able to help people get what they needed for little to nothing. Over the years she helped many family members with her couponing and donated several times to the Boys and Girls Club in Tennessee that her niece Stacey worked at. When Alice was not couponing, she liked to go on walks, sit in the sun, watch the waves on Lake Michigan when visiting her daughter in Manitowoc, and talk on the phone with her family and loved ones. Alice talked of her children a lot and how proud she was of them. Her daughter, Brittany, received her degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and currently works in a hospital as a cardiac/vascular sonographer. Her son, Brandon, is currently a Petty Officer Second Class, Dive Medical Technician for the US Navy. Although Alice will be missed by many family and friends, we will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Stirmel and Garnett Burt; brothers, Irvin & Bernard Beier; brother-in-laws, Robert Braund and Charles Burt.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Drewitz; two children, Brittany (Chester) Drewitz, Brandon Drewitz; six sisters, Judy Pitzer, Margaret Michalek, Barbara Stephens, Ida Braund, Debra (Darryl) Raabe, Patricia Beier; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Per Alice’s request, no formal service will be held. A private family gathering was held with her husband, son, and daughter on October 9, 2020.
Since no formal service will be held, please take a moment to view the online Tribute Wall. Send your condolences or share a memory of Alice with her family and friends.
